Senior Mini Sessions

About your mini session

A mini session or cap and gown session is significantly shorter than a full senior experience session, lasting about half an hour, but that doesn’t mean these sessions are any less important. We will capture both formal and informal images.

Senior mini sessions currently start at $225. The cost includes a pre-session planning conversation, location scouting, a black rental cap and gown (if needed), a half hour session, post processing of images, 5 minutes for friends/family to join you in your photos at the end of your session, and at least 25 high res digital image files.

3 Reasons to book a cap & gown session

For Thank You cards

Ordering thank you cards through me, or even a big box photo company like Shutterfly using the photos from your session can make sending thank you cards 100 times easier. Use a great cap and gown photo and a short thank you message and you’re good to go. You can also schedule cap and gown sessions for months before graduation so you have time to get your photos back, design your thank yous, order them, and have them ready to send out when those graduation gifts start rolling in.

Quality photos

On graduation day, you’ll be leaving for the ceremony at least an hour before your family. You will be sitting “in the line up” for an hour or more and then spending 90 minute or more sitting through the ceremony. Your parents will likely not be sitting close to the stage and cell phone photos will be dark and grainy. After the ceremony, when you go to meet up with your family those hours of sitting and waiting will have dampened your hair and make up making you look less fresh. Scheduling a cap and gown session guarantees you have quality photos of this special time.

Yearbook cap and gown photos are so cheesy

When you schedule a cap and gown session we choose a location that fits your personality, rather than sitting in front of a black backdrop like you do for the yearbook company. You have the opportunity to bring props like a tennis racquet, favorite books, or even pets. A cap and gown session will give you the chance to showcase who you are, much more so than a yearbook photo.
